Switzerland by Rail ..1990

In 1990, we made our third visit to Switzerland. This time it was a two resort holiday, with week 1 at Montreux, and week 2 at Lucerne. We flew from Birmingham to Zurich on Sunday 22nd July 1990. We then travelled by rail from Zurich, via Neuchatel and Lausanne, to Montreux.

Highlight of the week, rail wise, was the journey up the Rack Railway to Rigi Kulm. There was no corresponding journey down, since we decided to walk, and take a boat back to Lucerne. But we seriously misjudged the walking time, and only made the boat by the skin of our teeth.

And so ended another highly enjoyable Swiss Holiday.
